Accompanying the 'Brave New Worlds' exhibition at the Walker Art Center [45°00' N, 93° 15' W] Latitudes wrote the essay 'Future Conditional' (download from the archive) for the 300-page illustrated catalogue. The text examines different toilet designs in Europe, the Catalan caganer figure and ways that these may illuminate Spain's rapid changes in the midst of massive demographic transformations, in the wake of terrorist bombings and the election of a leftist administration.
The catalogue contains texts by exhibition curators Doryun Chong and Yasmil Raymond and correspondent essays penned by art historians, critics, and curators including Cecilia Brunson (Chile), Hu Fang (China), Tone Hansen (Norway), Mihnea Mircan (Romania), and José Roca (Colombia). Furthermore, texts by philosopher Kwame Anthony Appiah, celebrated author and activist Arundhati Roy, and award-winning foreign correspondent Janine di Giovanni provide additional perspectives on recent global affairs.
Exhibition brief: Addressing contemporary international art beyond glib expressions of globalism, the exhibition 'Brave New Worlds' assesses the current state of political consciousness and its multiple artistic manifestations in an era characterized by the unraveling of a unified world order. Guided by the questions “How do we know?,” How do we experience?,” and “How do we dream about the world?,” twenty four artists from more than a dozen countries in Southeastern Europe, South America, the Middle East, East Asia, North America, and North Africa propose their own answers in paintings, drawings, sculptures, installations, and videos.

Acompañando la exposición 'Brave New Worlds' del Walker Art Center [45°00' N, 93° 15' W] Latitudes escribió un texto corresponsal 'Future Conditional' para el catálogo de 300 páginas. El texto examina los diferentes diseños de inodoros en Europa, partiendo de la figura catalana del caganer, y los rápidos cambios que han sacudido a España recientemente, las profundas transformaciones demográficas, los ataques terroristas más graves de la historia del país y la consecuente elección de la administración socialista.
El catálogo contiene textos de los comisarios de la exposición Doryun Chong y Yasmil Raymond y otros textos corresponsales inspirados en el estilo del reportero escritos por historiadores de arte, críticos y comisarios del mundo, incluyendo a Cecilia Brunson (Chile), Hu Fang (China), Tone Hansen (Noruega), Mihnea Mircan (Rumania), y José Roca (Colombia).
