Pérez y Requena explore overlooked dimensions of the city —particularly their native Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the Canary Islands archipelago—treating it as a restless, fragmentary archive of memory, territory, fiction, and visual culture. Their methodology connects research, drawing and sculpture, tracing relationships between urban drift and installation.

Their exhibition “A Parrot, Three Bars, and Gold Teeth” brings together sixteen new works produced for this occasion that examine minor forms of heritage centred on the area now occupied by the TEA museum, along the Santos ravine.

Through sculpture, installation, drawing, photography, and archival material, the project draws on salvaged remnants of the built environment to trace fragments of the area's material history.

A fully illustrated publication designed by Nicolás Barreto (to be released in autumn 2026) will feature two new essays by the curators, archival material from the artists, and photographic documentation of the exhibition.

Co-curated by Néstor Delgado Morales (Curator, Temporary Exhibitions, TEA) and Latitudes.
