Hosted within the ‘Superstructure’, a specially-commissioned snail's shell architecture by Dutch artist Jasper Niens and designer Thijs Ewalts, 'The Dutch Assembly' consisted of a five-day gathering convened and moderated by Latitudes in the framework of The Netherlands as the guest country in the 2012 edition of ARCOmadrid.

Over five days, nearly 100 art professionals engaged in debates on cultural practices and policies, sharing their immediate concerns about anticipated funding cuts in 2013, as well as reflections of the artistic exchanges between Spain and the Netherlands. Artists, researchers, gallerists, professors, and curators connected with the audience across 30 events, including lectures, panels, readings, performances, book launches and screenings.

In September 2013, in the context of the Netherlands-Russia Year 2013, the pavilion travelled to Moscow to host ‘The Dutch Art Assembly – How do we want to be curated?’, a new series of discussions between Russian and Dutch art professionals presented during the 5th Moscow Biennale.
