Editors: 'Incidents (of Travel)', online periodical produced with Kadist

Latitudes and Kadist Art Foundation are partnering in a new 'distributed' phase of 'Incidents (of Travel)' as an online periodical.

Originally conceived by Latitudes in 2012, 'Incidents (of Travel)' explores the chartered itinerary as a format of artistic encounter.

Curator Yesomi Umolu and artist Harold Mendez inaugurate the series with a dispatch from Chicago – fieldwork and online storytelling photographed by Nabiha Khan of an offline day’s itinerary.

Guest Curators: Solo exhibition ‘José Antonio Hernández-Díez. I Will Fear No Evil, Convent dels Àngels del Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA), until 26 June 2016

I Will Fear No Evil presents works from the beginning of José Antonio Hernández-Díez’s career in the late 1980s and early nineties – several of which have been reconstructed for this occasion – in dialogue with Filamentos (2016), a new series developed especially for the occasion.

Coinciding with the exhibition an online publication has been released as part the digital series Quadern Portàtil downloadable as an EPUB or PDF (English/Spanish).

Tutors: BCN Producció 2016, La Capella, Barcelona, throughout 2016

Throughout 2016, Latitudes will be one of the three tutors mentoring the projects selected through the open call of the tenth edition of BCN Producció 2016 – the Barcelona City Council initiative that grants financial and production support to nine projects to be produced and exhibited at La Capella.

Until 12 June: 'Background Immunity' by Ricardo Trigo and 'Demo' by Pau Magrané/PLOM.

Forthcoming: 21 June, 19h: Opening of exhibitions by Equipo Palomar (MarioKissme + R. Marcos Mota) and Anna Dot.

In 2015 Latitudes produced a series of limited edition silkscreened tote bags to commemorate its 10th anniversary.

One or double-sided designs by Lawrence Weiner, Haegue Yang, Ignasi Aballí and Mariana Castillo Deball are available for purchase from our website.
