This was the concluding presentation of the year-long commissioning series of works in and around Rotterdam's port extension project Maasvlakte 2, with new works by Lara Almarcegui, Bik van der Pol, Jan Dibbets, Marjolijn Dijkman, Fucking Good Art, Ilana Halperin, Christina Hemauer & Roman Keller, Paulien Oltheten, Jorge Satorre, and Hans Schabus (along with website collaborators Maria Barnas (poetry) and Markus Miessen (interviews)).
The films by Rotterdam-based artists Bik van der Pol and Marjolijn Dijkman, 'Facts on the Ground' (2009–10) and 'Surviving New Land' (2009–10) respectively, were premiered coinciding with the opening of the exhibition.
'Portscapes' was an accumulative series of newly commissioned projects taking place throughout 2009 alongside the construction of Rotterdam's Maasvlakte 2 (MV2) – an extension to Europe's largest seaport and industrial area by 20%. Read more on each project in this page.

Esta fue la presentación final de los proyectos realizados y producidos a lo largo del 2009 entorno al Maasvlakte 2 – la extensión de 2,000 hectareas del Puerto de Rotterdam – por Lara Almarcegui, Bik van der Pol, Jan Dibbets, Marjolijn Dijkman, Fucking Good Art, Ilana Halperin, Christina Hemauer & Roman Keller, Paulien Oltheten, Jorge Satorre y Hans Schabus (colaboradores en la web: Maria Barnas (poesía) and Markus Miessen (entrevistas)).
Los vídeos producidos por Bik van der Pol y Marjolijn Dijkman, 'Facts on the Ground' (2009–10) y 'Surviving New Land' (2009–10) respectivamente, tuvieron su premiere coincidiendo con la exposición.
'Portscapes' ha sido una serie de nuevos encargos artísticos que han tenido lugar a lo largo del 2009 paralelamente a la construcción del Maasvlakte 2 (MV2) en Rotterdam, la extensión de la zona portuaria e industrial más extensa de Europa que se realizará entre el 2008 y 2013 'robándole' 2,000 hectáreas de terreno al mar.
