Incidents (of Travel)

In 2016 Latitudes and KADIST launched a new phase of ‘Incidents (of Travel)’, evolving it into an online project that published dispatches from twenty locations around the world. Each instalment was based on a day-long itinerary devised by an artist at a curator's invitation, bringing extended offline conversations to life through words, images and short videos.

Originally conceived in 2012 as a form of curatorial fieldwork – an expanded studio visit proposed to five artists living in Mexico City—“Incidents (of Travel)” subsequently unfolded through research residencies in Hong Kong (2013) and San Francisco (2015).
